Maire graduated from Manchester School of Art with her BA in Fine Art in 2009 and her MA
in 2011. She is currently enrolled in the Professional Masters of Education programme in
NCAD and will graduate in 2023. In her artistic practice Máire creates art that is grounded in
a conceptual framework, the idea not the outcome is what most interests her. As an artist
she is consistently drawn to everyday materials and objects often overlooked, seeking to
draw out unseen potential through an exploration of materials. Considering drawing in the
expanded field Máire often draws with the paper as a material, investigating both the
intended and unintended effects of her interventions which are always underpinned by a
simple question ‘what happens if..’
